Virginia Tech to offer biomechanics and biological transport research experience for undergraduates

The department of biomedical engineering and mechanics at Virginia Tech is teaming up with plant pathology, physiology, and weed science to offer a biomechanics and biological transport research experience for undergraduates (REU) during the summer of 2018.
Students selected for this program will receive a $5,000 stipend, meals, and on-campus housing – not to mention the opportunity to conduct research alongside Virginia Tech’s world-renown faculty. The program begins May 28 and will run through July 28. Students will present their projects at a campus-wide summer undergraduate research symposium at the program’s conclusion.
Applicants may choose from eight different projects that span the fields of biomedical engineering, biomechanics, fluid dynamics, biological transport, and more. Applications, which can be submitted online, are due March 2.
