Esther Cruz

Responsibilities

Esther provides financial and administrative support for the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics (BEAM).  Responsibilities include assisting faculty with making travel arrangements and processing reimbursements, ordering supplies and equipment, and providing general administrative assistance to assigned faculty, instructors, and graduate students.  Esther also provides financial assistance across the department assisting faculty and staff with updating financial and salary worksheets and assists with department reconciliations and resolves outstanding encumbrance issues involving accounts payable and travel.

Education

Esther Graduated from Radford University in December of 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She is also certified in Fiscal Support & Fiscal Management.  

Background

Esther has been with Virginia Tech since 2016. Prior to joining BEAM, she was a Program Accountant and Payroll Specialist for Continuing and Professional Education. Esther previously served as the accountant and payroll specialist for The Executive Briefing Center, The Roanoke Center, The Southwest Virginia Center, The Richmond Center, and the Newport News Center.
