Visualizing and Modeling Disease

Medical and biomedical imaging are necessary in virtually all fields of biomedical engineering. Developing technologies to visualize and model disease, injury, and even healthy tissue lie at the root of accurate diagnosis.

Biomedical imaging incorporates the field of radiology, which uses the imaging technologies of X-ray radiography, magnetic resonance imaging, medical ultrasonography or ultrasound, thermography, and tomography.

Our program explores the development of new imaging technologies as well as how imaging is used in a wide range of clinical applications.
